John Keats has rightly said - A thing of beauty is a joy forever and beauty is truth.........True indeed….
Here, I am talking about the biggest organ of our body -Skin,(did u know that?? :o,I came to know this very late though :p] which covers and protects our whole body and weighs around 7 or 8 pounds.Hmm,quite interesting haan!!
Anyways,I believe ,to have a good skin is a fortune especially when we age.But it's not that easy because of the stressful life and bad lifestyle etc we tend to ignore the signs of our skin asking for help resulting in early signs of wrinkles, age spots, acne, even skin cancer....and as they say "Prevention is better than cure".So,we can always keep in mind a basic few steps to take care of our skin instead of consulting a Dermatologist when it's too late ..and for this it's not necessary that we should rush to a beauty parlor or a shop to buy the best skin care solution available, which can in fact be expensive, made up of harsh chemicals and may be even allergic to our skin making it worse. But what if we can get good skin care solution right from our home, from our kitchen.......Yes,all those vegetables or fruits, spices etc are not just for cooking & eating ,in fact they have got loaaads of hidden medicinal values and in fact can provide the best & safest remedies for our skin care irrespective of the skin type one has and they are quite safe to use and moreover affordable and easily available .
I've always admired a good skin.I believe a good, healthy and glowing skin makes you pretty no matter how you look ,what type of feature u have or what type of skin color one possess. Our body, our skin is the gift from God to us and it's our duty to take care of them efficiently.A few of us are blessed with flawless skin and other few with problematic skin but there is something we can always personally try to do to make it better and which will indirectly make you feel better from inside out.
I am health and beauty conscious to a certain extent I've to admit that :) and that's why I've been collecting lots of home remedies/tips now and then for skin care with the courtesy of my grandma, mother, relatives, friends, magazines and ofcourse, through internet.I used to jot down sometimes in my diary, paper (if I am away from my diary) and since few years in a word doc in my computer. However, the problem is whenever I am searching for something particular for myself or my friend, I get really confused as I don't even remember where I've noted those tips :X and usually, I don’t get that then.
So,I finally decided to start a blog exclusively with all my Skin care collections. It'll be easy to find at the right time when needed , will be organized and even can be tried and tested by any alien interested from this blog planet ;) :P :D.
First thing first,we need to find what type of skin we have-oily, normal/combination, dry, sensitive or sun- damaged and on the basis of that we need to take care of our skin for best result.
Basically,a good skin care routine should be following these steps – Cleansing, toning, exfoliating ,moisturizing and sunscreen.
1.Cleansing -as the name suggest is to clean the skin to get rid of dirt, oil, make up etc from your face.Right from the morning we can clean our face with just luke warm water and any mild cleanser if it's a store bought one or otherwise we'll go for the safe bet-home remedy for it which I’ll be mentioning later.
2.Toning-It's a process done to restore our PH balance of our skin ,removes any leftover dirt from our face ,close the pores and make the skin tight. For dry skin go for mild toner if it's a store bought product and for oily go for an astringent.
3.Exfoliating- is done to removes the dead cells from our skin and helps hiding those fine lines and thereby making the skin glow .It is usually something that we shouldn’t miss in our weekly skin routine ,it really shows a great difference immediately. It should also be used carefully because if over done it can make the skin drier or cracked.
4.Moisturizing-Well,everyone knows this I suppose. We need to keep our skin hydrated/moistened which overcomes the dryness/chappiness and makes it soft ,supple, glowy and ages less quickly. This applies for oily skin too except the acne ones and Don’t over do it as it may clog worse and may lead to acne :x..
5.Sunscreen-The last but never the least, donot forget to apply sunscreen,The beauty experts all agree and swear by this that sun damage is the number one cause of early wrinkles, skin cancer etc :o (that’s scary haan)…and is recommended to be used even in Winter and cloudy days as well…
These are the basic steps one should follow to have a healthy and glowing skin.We need to find out time for the same and as they say “Stitch in time saves nine”.
Here begins the journey to a beautiful skin………….
But moreover to possess a beauty inside out…reminds me the beautiful lines by Audrey Hepburn,a famous British actress and humanitarian….
For attractive lips,
Speak words of kindness.
For lovely eyes,
Seek out the good in people.
For a slim figure,
Share your food with the hungry.
For beautiful hair,
Let a child run his/her fingers through it once a day.
For poise,
Walk with the knowledge that you never walk alone.
People, even more than things,
Have to be restored, renewed, revived, reclaimed,
And redeemed; never throw out anyone.
Remember, if you ever need a helping hand,
You will find one at the end of each of your arms.
As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands;
One for helping yourself, and the other for helping others………………………………….
