Tips for the basic skin care regime from my hidden treasure…………
1.Cleansing is the first and foremost requirement of skin care.It should start right from the morning and before winding up the night.So,here goes the simple tips right from the kitchen……..
- Always start with washing the face with luke warm water instead of hot or cold water which is harmful to the skin but the eyes must be washed with cold water for sure.
- Take raw milk/non-boiled milk and soak a cotton pad in that and apply on the face and neck .Leave this for 15 min and then wash out with cold water. For oily skin or acne skin or sensitive one, add a drop or two fresh lime juice with the milk and apply.
- Take a slice of tomato or cucumber or even mix the juices and apply on the face and neck and wash after 5-10 min.
- Apply lime juice or buttermilk on the face and neck and wash out after 10-15 min.
2.Toning is very necessary to maintain the ph balance of our skin which would keep the skin hydrated and allow the cells to function properly.Here are a few toning tips ..
1.For Normal skin-
1) Apply tomato juice all over face and neck and wash after 5-10 min.
2) Make a rosewater toner –Boil red rose petals and strain the liquid and store it when cool and apply on the face.
3) Mix juice of 1 small cucumber with 1 tsp yogurt/curd and apply.
2.For Dry skin- Mix a few drops of lemon juice, glycerin and rose water and apply on the face and neck. Wash after 10 min.
3.For Oily Skin- Add 1 tsp of honey with 1 egg white and 1 tsp of lemon juice . Apply this mixture all over face and neck . Wash it off with lukewarm water after 10min.
4.For sensitive skin/Combination skin-
1) Mash one strawberry and apply.
2) Mix 2 tbsp rosewater with one tbsp witch hazel and apply.
3.Exfoliating- aids in removing the dead cells from our skin and rejuvenate it and make it clean and glowing.It also helps in reducing premature aging,sundamage,uneven skin tone and flaky skins..
Here are a few simple tips to follow-
1) For all skin types -Mix 1/4th tsp of brown sugar with olive oil/almond oil/coconut oil and mix it till it becomes a paste and then massage onto the face in circular motion and with upward strokes on your neck.
2) Mix 2 tsp of ground oatmeal with 1 tsp of baking soda and little water and apply on the face and massage in circular motion.Wash out later and pat dry.
3) Mix 1 tablespoon of honey, 2 tablespoon of finely ground almond paste/oatmeal and 1 tsp of lemon juice.
Caution-Don’t overdo the exfoliating the skin and avoid skins with acne or any injury /infection etc.Just once or twice a week is enough.
4.Moisturizing -keeps the skin hydrated,fresh and glowing.
1. Mix 1 egg yolk with 1 tablespoon of honey and apply on the face and neck and after 15 min wash it off with luke warm water and pat dry.
2. Apply Avocado paste on your face and wash it off after a few minutes.
3. Apply a mixture of cucumber juice with 1 tsp of yogurt/curd.
4. Apply a mixture of a Banana, 1 tsp honey and yogurt/curd.
5. Apply a mixture of 1 tbsp of lime juice,honey and yogurt/curd or whole milk.
Warning: Before trying out any of the tips mentioned above ,do make sure that you are not allergic to any of those ingredients by doing a skin patch test.It varies from person to person.
These tips must be followed regularly to achieve the optimum result.So,do find some time to take care of the biggest organ of your body in a very simple and humble way and I am sure you’ll once when you’ll start fetching those compliments or stares especially from a stranger…..;)..Don’t you wanna experience that???
